SCIENCE IDEAS

Drinking Celery
You need:
celery, glass of water, food coloring

Cut the end off of the celery and stand it in  glass of deeply colored water.  The color will rise up the celery, until after a few hours the whole stalk will be colored.  You can also do this with carnations and daisies.
This is called osmosis
It is the way plants bring water from their roots to their leaves.

Moving Pepper
You need:
Shallow dish of water, pepper,
liquid detergent
Sprinkle pepper in water.  Add 1 drop liquid detergent.  Watch the pepper go to the sides of the dish leaving the middle empty.
The detergent dissolves
and lowers the water's surface tension.
This reaction spreads like a wave across
the water, pushing the pepper in front of it.

BE CAREFUL LITTLE EYES WHAT YOU SEE

I will set no worthless thing before my eyes.
   Psalm 101:3

Children are exposed to so much these days.  Monitor the shows they watch even the cartoons to know if any particular message is being presented.
One day I had rented a "G" movie for my grandchildren and God's name was used inappropriately.  That was offensive to me and to many but to the creators of the "G" movie it was ok.
If we want to preserve good, honest values we have to be careful what we put before our eyes.
Review movies before your children watch.
